The University ranks at the top of China's leading universities in comprehensive strength.
It has 36 academic schools and departments covering eleven disciplines: philosophy,
economics, law, education, literature, history, agriculture, science, engineering, medicine
and management. The University offers a variety of programs, including 75 undergraduate
programs, 200 Master programs, 139 doctoral programs and 22 post-doctoral research
centers. It has 15 national key disciplines. A number of other leading research centers are
located here; 4 National Engineering Research Centers, 4 National Leading Laboratories,
2 National Specialized Laboratories. The University has more than 13, 000 faculty
members, of whom over 4, 000 are full time teachers, 16are academicians of the Chinese
Academy of Sciences & the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 900 are professors.

About Wuhan

Wuhan the capital of the Hubei province - a modern metropolis with unlimited
possibilities, situated in the heart of China. Wuhan is an energetic city, a commercial
centre of finance, industry trade and science with many international companies located
here. With scientific, technological and educational institutions such as Laser City and the

Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, is the largest city in Central China, with a population
of over 7 million and an area of 8,467 square kilometers. It lies at the confluence of the
Yangtze and Han rivers and is comprised of three towns--Wuchang, Hankou, and
Hanyang--that face each other across the rivers and are linked by two bridges. A major
junction of traffic and communication, it is the center of economy, culture and politics in
Central China and is proud of metallurgy, automobiles, machinery and high-tech
industries. A core of national air, water and land transportation it offers great potential for
further development and foreign investment.
Language of Instruction
English is the language of Instruction for the international students in Huazhong University
of science and Technology. Since Huazhong University of science and Technology is also
a leading university it attracts Chinese faculties who have studied overseas in English
and also the one who have worked abroad for a few years. For Exchange program the
faculties are sent abroad for training and to develop learning methodology and
techniques, so we ensure that the program we offer is of higher quality and standing.

Curriculum and Faculties:

Course Curriculum is very important today for any medical student and any medical
college taking student from India. Student went in large numbers to European countries
like Russia Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Armenia to study medicine. They could not do well in
their Screening Test Exam conducted by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the
students failed in mass. This is because the students had to study in a different system
and the MCI had conducted the exam in the pattern based on the syllabus and system of
India.
To solve this problem Huazhong University of Science and Technology has adapted MCI
curriculum in collaboration with International Curriculum to keep its standards high. This
is of greatest advantage to Indian students.

The College now has one academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, more than
1,400 full and associate professors. The entire staff numbers are above 7,500. Doctorate
degrees can be conferred in 31 subjects and specialities, with 116 tutors for doctoral
candidates. 51 subjects and specialities for Master's degrees can be granted with over
540 tutors for graduate students. Post-doctoral research centers have been set up in
basic medicine, public health, preventive medicine and clinical medicine. There are nearly
900 Ph.D and master candidates, more than 3,500 undergraduates, over 300 students in
the 3-year system, about 160 foreign students. Since 1981, 700 medical doctors and
3000 medical masters have been graduated from here.
Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is
located in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province, in the
middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The campus of HUST
is beautifully nestled at the foot of Yujia hill and beside the
East Lake with green grass scattered all round in 500
hectares of land. It is a key comprehensive university under
the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education of P. R.
China. The current Minister of Education Prof Zhou Ji, who
graduated from this University, is the former president of the
University.
